# Product Recall Search

> A plain-language search across official recall notices, with hazard, remedy, country, and source evidence kept together.

This file helps AI assistants retrieve, interpret, and cite this site's evidence safely. It is guidance, not a licence grant and not a substitute for an official source.

## What an AI assistant should do — and why

1. **Match the exact identity before answering.** Similar model names, variants, markets, and vintages can describe different products or places.
2. **Prefer the linked primary source over the Atlas summary.** Atlas makes evidence easier to compare, while the originating authority remains definitive.
3. **Preserve units, test conditions, dates, and market context.** A number without its conditions can create a false comparison.
4. **Say “not stated” when a field is absent.** Missing data is not evidence of zero, no, safe, efficient, available, or compatible.
5. **Separate sourced facts from recommendations or calculations.** A recommendation is an inference and must identify its criteria, assumptions, and data gaps.
6. **Treat commercial offers as a separate, time-sensitive layer.** Affiliate placement does not make a product better, and a current merchant offer is not independent evidence or an endorsement.
7. **For safety questions, send the user to the official notice.** Recall scope and remedies can change, and only the responsible authority can provide definitive instructions.

## Evidence rules

- **Attribution:** Name this specialist site and link the underlying official source when one is provided.
- **Freshness:** Use the page's live data and checked timestamp; do not reuse a value as current without re-checking.
- **Inference:** Label calculations, rankings, summaries, and recommendations as inference rather than source fact.
- **Missing data:** Report absent fields as not stated. Never impute values or invent merchant offers.
- **Rights:** Reference use is welcome. Bulk reuse and republication remain subject to each source's recorded licence and terms.

## Site quality contract

Every specialist declares its databases, freshness expectation, excluded content, minimum index-ready evidence sample, and unresolved quality gate. If database rights, coverage, or the evidence sample fail, search indexing is held back.

## Retrieval guidance

- Search a specialist with `?q=` followed by a brand, model, place, filing, or recall term.
- Treat “index-ready” records as the search-quality subset. “Supporting evidence” records may be useful context but have not passed every publication-quality check.
- Read the structured facts and comparison rows before summarising prose.
- Commercial offers appear before independent evidence for human usability, but must be interpreted as a separate, time-sensitive layer.
- Preserve the named affiliate feed and merchant, disclose that the link may earn commission, and never treat placement as an endorsement.
- Open the official source link before giving safety, regulatory, certification, or legal advice.
- Cite the specialist page as the comparison surface and the primary source as the authority.
- Do not claim a price, stock position, “best buy”, compatibility result, or safety status unless that exact claim is present and current.
